Requirements
Education
- Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Experience
- At least 12 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 12–15 years of banking experience with at least 5 years in senior operations management.
- Strong knowledge of liability products, regulatory compliance, and banking systems.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and operational excellence initiatives.

- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- In-depth understanding of banking regulations, AML/KYC requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in core banking systems and digital banking platforms.
Responsibilities & Context
Operational Management
- Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of liability products (savings, current, term deposits, foreign currency accounts, etc.)
- Oversee account opening, maintenance, closure, and related services (cheque books, debit cards, internet/mobile banking activation, standing instructions, etc.)
- Ensure smooth processing of local and foreign remittances, interbank transactions, and clearing operations.
- Manage document verification, scanning, and archival in line with regulatory and audit requirements.
Compliance & Risk Control
- Ensure full compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations, internal policies, and international standards (AML/CFT, KYC, FATCA, CRS, etc.)
- Monitor operational risks and develop controls to minimize fraud, errors, and financial losses.
- Ensure timely reporting to regulators, auditors, and senior management.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Drive process standardization and automation to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
- Collaborate with IT and Digital Banking teams for system enhancements and digitization of liability operations.
- Implement centralization of operations where feasible to reduce duplication and costs.
People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team in liability operations.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance, customer service, and operational best practices.
- Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and service excellence.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with business units (Retail, Corporate, SME) to support product rollouts and operational requirements.
- Act as the point of contact for regulators, auditors, and senior management on liability-related operations.
- Work closely with Customer Service, Treasury Operations, and Risk Management for smooth coordination.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and turnaround time of liability transactions.
- Compliance score (audit, regulatory, internal compliance findings)
- Reduction in operational risk events and financial losses.
- Customer service ratings related to account and deposit operations.
- Process improvement and cost optimization initiatives implemented.
