Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Honors
- Masters
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics or related field.
- Professional insurance certification will be given preference.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a reputed Life Insurance company.
- Must have experience as Head of Underwriter.
- Experience in the Insurance business is mandatory.
Additional Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of insurance underwriting principles.
- Strong understanding of IDRA regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and risk assessment tools.
- Strong analytical ability and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the underwriting department.
- Develop and execute underwriting policies, guidelines, and risk assessment frameworks.
- Evaluate high-value and complex insurance proposals.
- Improve underwriting processes & ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare risk reports and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate with actuarial, claims, and marketing teams.
- Train and guide underwriting officers and ensure quality control.
